Practicalities

How to order

Ordering is easy.  Just phone us on 01360-860009.

N.B.  If  I am unable to answer the phone when you ring, please leave a message with your PHONE NUMBER, so that I can call you back,  or send me an email to cowtan@weefoot.com.  Let me know if the cake is to be a surprise!

Either select a cake or pudding from the gallery pages, or use the images to inspire you, and then discuss with us what you would like.

N.B.  All our cakes are  freshly baked to order.  Fresh ingredients like cream or fruit will be purchased specially for your order.  Therefore, please order several days in advance, preferably a week.  Bespoke decorations for celebration cakes may take several days to design and make (leaving them to dry between stages), so please give us as long as possible to make a good job for you.

Collection & Delivery

Orders can be collected from us at a mutually convenient time. 

We may be able to arrange for delivery to a local address.

A few of our recipes are suitable for postage to UK mainland addresses.  They will be sent by a next day recorded delivery service. 

Payment

Cash on delivery, or we can accept cheques.

Terms & Conditions

Please give us as much notice as possible to process orders.  We are a very small family business, so the more notice we can have the better, particularly during school holidays. 

Please give a delivery / collection date when making an order enquiry.

Please give us contact details when placing an order, including phone number, email address and postal address.

Many of our cakes are made with bespoke decorations.  If we are unable to give you a price when you first make an enquiry, we will make a note of your requirements and get back to you with a price as soon as possible.

We only make and bake to order, after you have given us confirmation of the order. 

Orders can only be altered or cancelled before we have started processing.  Once processing has begun, payment will be due for any processes which have been started.  This particularly applies to orders for large numbers of muffin cakes requiring bespoke hand cut decorations, which may be prepared well in advance of the actual baking of the cakes.  If the number of cakes ordered decreases significantly from the original order, the cost of excess bespoke decorations made will be reflected in the final price of the order.

Some delicate fresh foods start to change in texture and appearance soon after being compiled.  All orders part or fully processed prior to any change in the order will be invoiced.

All orders remain the property of The Mill House Home Baking until fully paid for.

All orders must be paid for before or on delivery.  Cash or cheque only, please.

For postal orders please give an address where a recipient will be able to sign for the delivery. This can not be on a Sunday or a Bank Holiday.  After the order is posted we cannot accept any responsibility for its safe delivery.

Please check and follow the storage instructions for best results.  We recommend that a cool bag or box may be advisable to transport your order to retain its freshness, particularly on warm days.

In the unlikely event that you are not 100% happy with your order, please contact us within 24 hours of receipt.  We will require evidence of fault either by return of the order or photographs, before any refund could be made.  Refunds will not exceed the price of the order.

If, due to unforeseen circumstances, we are unable to process your order, we will let you know as soon as possible.  No compensation will be awarded in these circumstances.
